About Amy

Amy is bold, fiery, compassionate and fun.

Amy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master’s in Social Work from Boston University. With nearly 19 years of experience, she is passionate about utilizing Trauma Informed Care philosophies to support individuals in the human service industry. Amy’s extensive career includes working with those impacted by trauma, serving in direct clinical roles, as a supervisor, manager and a director.

Her professional journey spans various clinical settings such as community mental health centers, behavioral health hospitals, and schools. Throughout her experiences, Amy has recognized the critical importance of supporting direct care providers to ensure sustainability in the field. She believes that fostering personal development and growth among clinicians is essential for creating a resilient and effective workforce.

She also has significant training experience through her professional roles and has served as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work for nearly seven years. Amy’s trauma-informed approach extends beyond individual care to a macro perspective on the systems impacting communities.

In addition to her social work perspective, Amy brings innovative ideas and a dynamic energy, often thinking outside traditional structures, processes, and flows. Amy has experience in supporting individuals in creative business ideas. 

Amy is a trauma survivor.

Amy experienced and survived trauma at a young age as a Columbine survivor. Featured in the film “We Are Columbine” and sharing her story on the Get Unstuck podcast. Amy has an incredible story of living through unthinkable trauma and how she found meaning, resilience, and purpose in helping others heal. Learn about her path to becoming a social worker, how she practices self-care while supporting others, and the lessons she’s learned about the human capacity for recovery. She offers wisdom and perspective to others who seek to heal from trauma.
